Been sooooobusy.....

Its been a non stop marathon around here for the last couple weeks. Between working for a friend in his shop and events and family time, I haven't had a whole lot of  time to blog. Right now my editing computer is down. I should get it back today, but I am going to have to reinstall all my programs and presets for things like Lightroom, so thats going to be ab all day event. In the meantime I have 3 cf cards with images that need edited so I probably wont be able to post anything until this weekend...so everyone have a great week and hopefully I will have some pictures to put up this weekend.

Finished up some Easter pics....

A friend of mine from high school sent me a message around a month before Easter wanting me to come out and take pics of the day for her, so we spent Easter with them and had a blast...this is the first time that I have ever been to someones Easter celebration that was just as crazy as Christmas morning. We had a ton of fun and I had a chance to talk to friends I hadn't seen in a while. Here are a few pics from the day...

Creativelive ....

So I just sat through the 1st day of the Zack Arias weekend workshop. I just love how down to earth he is and how he breaks things down so they are easy to understand and digest. If you have the time go to www.creativelive.com and watch the replay of todays class, and take the time this weekend to watch the next two classes. I guarantee you will learn something.I learn something new everytime I watch one of his videos.

Some more portraits.....and a photography tip....

This past week I had the chance to shoot some pictures of Cody before he went to a dance at the High School. I have known his mom for years and her daughter is married to one of my best friends. It had been raining all day and about 3 days before that so It was very wet out and a lot of the roads were starting to have water over them. We really didnt have a whole lot of room to work with and was limited on what we could shoot outside since the yard was so soggy, but we still managed to come away with quite a few nice images.... now for the tip.... WHen you are using off camera flash in full manual the aperture will control the flash exposure and the shutter speed will control the ambient exposure. When shooting outside try underexposing the scene by 1 1/2 stops while exposing the subject correctly. This will make your subject pop from the background. I usually shoot at two shutter speeds when I am shooting outdoors...either I am at 1/60 to get as much ambient light as I can in the...

Miss Kourtney....

Sunday we had the pleasure of shooting Kourtney's newborn pics. Her Parents are Jason and Kimmy Gladden, we shot their wedding last year and they are great people to work with. Jeannie and I both loved doing this shoot. Kourtney is so tiny and one of the cutest babies we have ever seen..here are a couple shots from the session...

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep...

I recently seen a post talking about this wonderful organization. NILMDTS is a organization of volunteer photographers that provide portrait for for families of terminally ill or recently deceased children free of charge. They provide the families with the gift of images of their child to help with the grieving and healing process. Most times these are the only images the family will have of their child. As photographers we are the keepers of memories. We preserve moments in history. We can freeze time and give a family a picture of their child they will cherish forever. How awesome is it to be able to do that for someone? If you can it would be great if you could help spread the word about this wonderful organization...better yet, if you are a photographer, volunteer. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep website
