Repeat Clients, Gotta Love 'Em.....

>Once again I had the privilege to shoot the Lakins family. Josh is a good friend of mine I met at my former job probably close to 8 years ago now. We have spent a lot of great times together at car shows and at work...I hope to be able to shoot their family pics for a long time to come!

Re-Branding.....

So I finally broke down and paid someone to design a new look for my photography business. I hit up Brandt Faqua over at Graphic Disorder to design something up for me and him and his staff hit it out of the ballpark! If you haven't heard of Graphic Disorder you need to go check them out at www.graphicdisorder.com Here is the new logo design and business card layout they made up for me. Now its time to update the website andthe blog to reflect the change.

Modeling Portfolio....

One of my wedding clients contacted me recently wanting to start her modeling portfolio. Since she didnt have any shots at all, I wanted to do some studio shots for her on white seamless, something nice and clean and crisp. Not having a studio posed a little challenge, but i reached out to a fellow photographer and worked it out so I could use his studio for a couple of hours. I also was able to enlist a make up artist at the last minute to do the hair and make up for me. Her experience in posing was a godsend! I want to give a big thanks to Alex Grace for use of his studio and to Loretta Goodin-Kendall for the hair and make up as well as helping with the posing. We had a great time and it was a great learning experience for me as well as my client.

Something New...

Had the chance to shoot a business head shot for a friend. I had not had the chance to do this type of shoot before and I really wanted to knock it out of the park. I kept the lighting simple with one flash and a 42" shoot through umbrella. I used a 85mm lens on my 5D mark II to keep from distorting her face. I shot this in her home against a empty white wall, so in the post processing I added a neutral background and used a few different techniques I had been wanting to use for a while to touch up the portrait. Here is the final result along with a before and after for you to compare!

Weddings and a Cold, Gloomy Winter Day.....

I had the chance to shoot Brooke and Alex's wedding along with my good friend Todd. It really helped having someone there to get those shots I missed while I was shooting somewhere else... The bride was hoping for snow for her pictures, all we ended up with a soggy, cold day with menacing clouds. It wasn't what she had hoped for but we made do and came out with some fantastic images...

Vegas, Mini truckers and a Wedding....

So back on October I had the awesome opportunity to go to Vegas and shoot one of my best friends weddings. One of the greatest experiences I have ever had. If you have never been to Vegas it is a must do! There is so much to do and see you could stay a month and not get it all in. A couple months after the wedding I got the chance to go up to northern Ohio where my friends live and shoot the reception, another great time was had! We got to see all of our mini truckin friends and hang out with a bunch of great people. Here are a few images from both shoots, enjoy!

Big Shock....

A few weeks ago Jeannie and I had the biggest shock of our lives. After 15 years of trying and pretty much accepting the fact it wasn't going to happen, Jeannie is pregnant! We found out at 12 wks, at the time of this post we are 17 weeks and scheduled to go for the gender ultrasound this coming Wednesday.  In the meantime, I am going to try an catch up the blog and get back on a schedule. Stay tuned as there is more to come.
