Long absence equals busy summer....

First, my apologies for not keeping this blog updated as much as I should...Its been a very busy summer. I have had my schedule filled with portrait work, a Vegas wedding followed by a reception in Ohio, more than my fair share of Senior Portraits, Newborn Sessions and Family Portraits.I will try to get caught up over the next few days! One big announcement I can share right now is I have upgraded my website. Changed the look and added print buying directly from the site! Go check it out and let me know what you think!!

A horse, equipment failure and a late dinner....

I have never had so much equipment problems on a shoot as I did Saturday shooting Jasmin's senior pictures..The battery for my strobes failed, mu radio triggers kept acting up and I left my stand and adapter to mount my hotshoe flash in my car at the clients house...I ended up having to use the father as a light stand...Just glad that him and I are old school buddies and we just laughed and went with it... Even with all the troubles we had a great session and got a lot of great images...

Maternity session....

What started off as just another client and just another wedding to shoot has developed into a great friendship. Now I am Shooting their maternity pics. Always a great couple to shoot and a ton of fun just to be around...

Another wedding!!!!

Amanda and Michael had a BEAUTIFUL wedding! The day was perfect and everyone was so much fun to work with...one of the smoothest weddings I have ever shot!

Busy Weekend

Its been a few since I have posted anything and I apologize. I haven't been very busy over the last couple months, but I sure made up for it this past weekend. I shot my 20 yr class reunion, done a family/newborn shoot and a senior pics session. Here are a few shots from the Senior pics session, I will be posting some from the other two over the next few days.

Before the dance.....

A recent winner of one of my contests had me shoot pics of her son and his date to a high school dance. When I got to the area we had planned to shoot at we were greeted with a mob of teens and their parents shooting pictures with their point and shoots. I had planned on using a single strobe off camera with a beauty dish but it was so crowded I had to go to plan B. I really hadnt thought of a plan B so I just stuck a 550ex on my 5D and grabbed a couple lenses and off we went. My favorite pic from the session was a shot I snapped in between poses using my 200mm 2.8.Probably the best shot of the day...Hope you enjoy the set!

08 Mustang

Had a chance to do something I love to do! Shoot a car. I don't get a chance to shoot them very often but A friend of mine wanted a board done to display with her car at car shows. Had a great time shooting it and trying out a few new lighting tricks and play around some more with my 5D.

Band promo shoot...

I recently had the chance to shoot my first band promo shoot. If you are in southern Indiana and need an awesome band for your event, reception or whatever you should take a look at Second Day Romans. They are on of the best bands in the area.

Almost caught up...lol...

One of my best friends asked me to do some family pics for him, and once again I got pulled out into the cold windy Indiana winter weather....Even tho it was crazy cold and crazy windy we still were able to get some nice images. This was the first shoot I done with my new to me 5D....thats right, full frame goodness...I also discovered the beauty that is the 200 2.8L as a portrait lens...Sure you have to be a mile back from your subject and it makes it a little harder to shoot, esp without an assistant, but WOW is it worth it!!!

Tiffany and Chris...

Normally I detest shooting outdoors during the winter, but a friend of mine who is a wedding planner wanted me to do some pictures of her daughter and fiancee' so away we went all over town in the cold shooting pictures. As soon as we pulled into the first location and I started pulling out gear I realize I had forgotten my radio triggers for off camera flash...great! lol... So I had to improvise with a 550ex on camera...

Babies....

So between wedding gigs, I usually scare up a little portrait work. Just so happens a friend of mine had a baby and since I needed some really good newborn pics for my port I gave her a session as a gift. By the time I was actually able to schedule a setting with him, he was already a couple weeks old, but still pretty darn cute. So easy to work with, slept thru it all and never fussed..Got to love a newborn shoot that goes like that...

Playing catchup....

My apologies for the long absence from my blog...Life has been hectic and not a whole lot of photography was being done over the winter...Just to do some catch up I will post a few of the sessions and weddings I have done since my last post. The weekend after Thanksgiving we shot the Kidd/Young wedding. Talk about a fun couple to work with!! Probably the most fun I have had shooting a wedding yet!
