Capturing Midnight Magic: A Photographer's Reflection on Christmas Eve Adventures

Hello everyone!

I hope you're doing well in this new year. As for me, I'm currently at home recovering from outpatient surgery. However, I'm still keeping busy by attending webinars and catching up on some much-needed reading. I'm excited about the upcoming semester where I'll be teaching both Photography 1 and Commercial Photography at the local community college.

But before diving into the semester, I took a moment to step out on Christmas Eve, a tradition I look forward to every year. From midnight until 2:30 am, I wandered the quiet streets, capturing the essence of the holiday season. There's something magical about the city when it's all tucked in for the night, adorned with festive decorations, and the world seems to momentarily find solace in its own tranquility.

I wanted to share a glimpse of those enchanting moments with you. Here are a few images I captured on Christmas Eve, each telling a story of the silent beauty that unfolds when the rest of the world is lost in dreams.

As I reflect on these images, I'm reminded of the power of photography to freeze moments in time, preserving the magic and tranquility that often go unnoticed in our busy lives.

As we step into the new year, let's cherish the quiet moments, appreciate the beauty that surrounds us, and find inspiration in unexpected places. Wishing you all a year filled with creativity, joy, and the discovery of your own magical moments.

Stay tuned for more photographic adventures and insights into the world of photography. Until next time, keep capturing the magic!

📸 **Capturing Moments, Creating Memories: A Year in Reflection** Happy Holidays, dear readers! As 2023 bids us farewell, I find myself pausing to reflect on the incredible journey this year has been. To all our wonderful clients, thank you for entrusting me with your precious moments—it has been an honor capturing the essence of your stories through my lens. This year has been a whirlwind of challenges and triumphs, as I navigated the delicate dance between running my photography business, pursuing further education, and stepping into a new role as an instructor at Ivy Tech Community College. Balancing these facets of my life alongside personal endeavors tested my resilience, but I'm proud to say that I faced these challenges head-on, emerging not only as a better person but also as a more refined and evolved photographer. 🌟 **Striking the Balance: Juggling Passion and Responsibility** The delicate balance between personal and professional commitments has been a demanding yet rew...

Its crazy...

I know this is supposed to be my photography blog, but I have been to pre occupied with the loss of my bestest pal to do much shooting. Today I was out in the yard with Bella, our other chihuahua, and the neighbors came out and asked about Charlie.  They were upset that he didn't make it. They told me how he made their day when he was outside and would bark at them.

How much to charge.....

This is something I have been struggling with ever since I decided to start charging for my work. Especially since the area I live in is not one of the wealthiest areas in the state. I recently have been watching Jasmine Star on www.creativelive.com and she gave a lot of insight on how to build up a successful wedding business. She also mentioned a forum she frequented whn she was starting out, www.opensourcephoto.net While I was on that site I discovered a link to "The Greatest Pricing Guide Ever" As the name suggests its a guide to helping you establish your pricing. I haven't read it all the way thru yet, but what I have read of it, its awesome! I highly suggest taking a look at it if you are having problems with your pricing. You can find it here....
